Press freedoms gaining ground in Cameroon

landonspectrumtvDOUALA Cameroon, Nov. 18 - In an interview with STV journalist Fointama Che, Mitch Land, interim dean of the Mayborn School of Journalism, says that press freedom is making progress in Cameroon.

Land said he was surprised to learn that a privately owned television station is now operating in Cameroon. Many countries in West Africa, including Cote d’Ivoire, have not allowed an independent radio or television station to compete with the state-controlled broadcast media.
