NTNewsNet.com is an interactive, content-rich website written, edited and produced by students in the Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. Each semester, this site will focus on a different topic. Students will be focusing the coverage on issues related to health, the economy and the environment. Last spring, students documented the storied history of the Department of Journalism. During Fall semester 2008, students covered the historic presidential campaign and election.
Students who are producing content for this website are currently taking classes in newspaper writing and reporting, feature writing, opinion writing, reporting on public affairs, multi-media storytelling, electronic news gathering, advanced electronic news writing and reporting, photojournalism portfolio plus graduate students.
The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC) and is considered one of the best journalism programs in Texas. It is known for its emphasis on student mentoring and for its highly selective admissions policies.
Within the department, the areas of study include Advertising, News Editorial, Public Relations, Photojournalism and Electronic News.
The University of North Texas is located in Denton, Texas, just north of Dallas and Fort Worth. More than 36,000 students attend UNT.
